Hello! First and foremost, I hope you guys have been keeping well during these crazy times! Thank you for joining me here on this platform, I appreciate everyone who takes a moment of their time to check out my side of the internet!
I love hauls and seeing what treasures people pick up in bulk so I thought I'd show you mine. I went on an impromptu thrifting day with two of my friends and from it I got some gorgeous pieces from Nine Crows. If you're not familiar with them they are one of the most popular vintage selling stores in Dublin with three locations in Temple Bar, Mary Street & Pembroke filled with amazing clothes, shoes and accessories!
You can make a day out of visiting all three by starting with the furthest one (Pembroke) as you can see on the map and make your way to the other two (Temple Bar then Mary Street) which are close to each other. I've never fully checked them out until that day and after visiting two of them, I decided why not visit the third and find out which one will be my go-to in the future.
Quick Review
Temple Bar: It's right in the heart of the city which is great and has a lot of variety selling women's and men's clothes too. I would say it has all the great stuff (investment buys) so I would come here if that's what I was looking for but it's the most expensive out of the three and neither of us wanted to make our wallets cry so we left. I didn't get anything from here but I saw a very cute purple bag and floral skirt that was tempting!
Mary Street: My favourite. I can't go in there without finding something I like, I would say other's fancy it too because there was a big queue when we were leaving that day. I also went by it this week, saw a sunflower top and had to run away because I'd already reached my shopping limit! Due to Covid they can only allow a few people into the cosy store which is understandable. They have everything clothes, shoes and accessories. This one is the cheapest, I got two shirts (5 euro each) from here and a belt (2 euro)!
Pembroke: This one is definitely far out from the city centre and I almost got lost finding it but I'm glad I got there in the end! The space is huge and I definitely spent more time here than I did in the other two stores combined. I was the only one there around mid-day (love that) but I thought there was a lot of clothes to go through so if you didn't have a lot of time on your hands you would find it overwhelming real quick! They've got every type of clothes but lacking in shoes so if that's what you're looking for, visit the other two! I did score two more cool shirts and two scarves which I will use for my neck, hair, bags and keys!
Styling
I love shirts, men's and women's. They're versatile meaning you can wear them casually or dress them up. There's no end to how much creativity you can draw out of a good shirt with a great pattern. Whether you're daunted by visiting a thrift store with expectations of not finding anything or searching for another piece for your wardrobe, I recommend starting with the shirts and go from there. Here's how I styled the 4 shirts I got from the Pembroke & Mary Street stores with my other thrifted items.
